1. Confirm the contact direction fits your design. Right-angle pins mate from the side rather than the top. They suit edge connectors, sliding docks, and tight vertical stacks. Send your enclosure layout and we’ll confirm the orientation.
2. Match the pin length to your footprint. These pins run 3.2 mm to 6.5 mm long. Pick a length that fits the board edge and reaches the mating surface. Share your footprint for a fit check.
3. Set the current rating for your load. Right-angle pins carry 1A to 3A. Match the rating to your peak current with headroom. We adjust diameter and plating for higher loads.
4. Confirm the working height for side contact. Working height runs 2.6 mm to 5.6 mm. Spec the height for firm side contact without binding. We’ll model the travel against your mating face.
5. Choose the spring force for your mate cycle. Spring force runs 20 gf to 150 gf. Higher force holds contact in sliding or vibrating docks. Lighter force suits low-insertion-force designs.
